At the Annual General Meeting of the Police Federation of England and Wales today (Thursday 20th May), conference agreed that the membership subscription rate from 1st January 2011 will be increased to £4.98 a week.
 

"This difficult decision was taken after very careful consideration and lengthy debate. The decision reflects the desire by all Federation representatives to ensure that the Police Federation continues to provide the very best service to members and remains able to continue to fight for the very best terms and conditions for police officers in the face of difficult economic times and a changing and uncertain political climate.

“With police officers facing increasing dangers and threats on the streets it is imperative that the Police Federation is able to represent them to the very highest standard."
